One can argue the important points and reasons for our American Civil War. How and why it began..the political mistakes that if changed might have averted this terrible and bloody struggle.
But I feel most agree that the rich history of our nation should be shared and passed along to our children. Not always an easy task when dealing with war in general and the savage consequences that make sharing with young children a bit of editing magic. Telling the history so they may learn without scaring the bejesus out of them via the facts and the visuals.
Maybe if we teach them correctly war in time would end. Given that most feel war is our greatest tragedy, wouldn't we all join together in such a noble undertaking such as ending war..and it's terrible cost on each new generation.
But share our history with some Civil War books for your children that will offer the times and experience of that tragic 4 years in a way that your kids can understand with sensitivity and subtle passion.
