Nyack Hospital started the Blow Away Breast Cancer to promote breast health awareness in the community.
The event is also a fundraiser to pay for breast health services for those in need in Rockland County.
Sunday's event begins with the BABC 5K Walk/Run that starts and ends at Nyack Hospital Registration begins at 7:15 a.m.
The planting of pink pinwheels in honor of loved ones dealing with breast cancer and in memory of those lost to the disease will follow at 10:30 a.m. along with the Baker's Battle, in which local bakeries create a "pinwheel-inspired" dessert. Pinwheels can also be downloaded for those who donate online here.
