How Can We Thank You - Let Us Count the Ways!

Thanking the performers who volunteered their time at the Penguin Plunge!

After a long, long sleep last night-I think that we are finally warmed up.  Certainly the joyous atmosphere of yesterday's Penguin Plunge would melt an iceberg, if there was one floating off the coast of Nyack Memorial Park!  It was a festival of high spirits and we were so happy that Isabella and Bree and Max were there to take it all in.  We were also gratified that our families from other years were there to celebrate as well!

We are so happy that we are able to have such great entertainment at the Penguin Plunge.  DJ Jimmy Schutz who has spun records at the plunge since the very first year, is a man with a heart of gold (and a record/CD collection to match!)  We are also blessed with the local band of Blarney Stew who took time from their busy March schedule to make great music.  These talented musicians really know how to make great music!  In fact, we are so excited that we will be with Blarney Stew when they play on March 16 at Emmett's Castle on Blue Hill Road, in Pearl River and we will draw our big raffle prizes there (Taylor Swift raffle tickets only $5 will be pulled in May!)

The day really kicked off when the gifted and hard working Lower Hudson Valley Youth Chorus performed the Star Spangled Banner.  It was such an incredibly beautiful rendition!  Each one of those singers had a beautiful voice and to work together like that took so much practice.  No wonder that they have performed at venues like Madison Square Garden.

No Penguin Plunge would be complete without the superlative talent of Fran Capo.  Superlative is the perfect word to describe Fran who holds the title of World's Fastest Talking Woman as well as other official World Records.  Fran volunteers her time to come from across the river (but don't worry, she doesn't swim) to spend time at the Penguin Plunge.  She not only does a very fast and furious rendition of the Three Little Pigs, but she worked with the children on practicing tongue twisters  Fran also told the audience how she came to the idea of being a world record holder and related her philosophy of life:  To live life as if it was your last day.... and just say yes to opportunity.  (she actually says it in a much funnier way because she is also is a comedian and produces comedy shows!)

We are always delighted to have the clowns from RSVP :  Sassy by name who amazes children with his artful ballooning.  The hearts he made this year were perfect!
