A 3-day festival of music, motivational speakers, counselors and activities to support anti-bullying efforts takes place this Friday through Sunday at the Peekskill Train Station river front.

The Pledge Anti-Bully Festival is a national event with celebrity teen artists, volleyball, video games and many other activities.

Friday's theme is "Redefining Beauty" and showcases female teens and their mothers.  They will bond by taking selfies and take to social media to show their inner beauty.  Female bands, female DJs, motivational speakers, life coaches and other positive female role models will help emphasize the day's theme of "Redefining Beauty."

Saturday's is "You Choose" and showcases YouTube personalities chosen by fans.  Performances by pop bands, DJs and others will enable teens to speak with positive role models.

Sunday's theme is "Era 2 Era" and dedicated to the adults.  The 80's era of music will be showcased at noon to close out the weekend.  Parents and teachers will participate in the anti-bullying initiative.

Tickets are on sale now through July 11th. Click here to purchase.

The festival takes place on Hudson Ave at the Peekskill Train Station, Peekskill Riverfront.

The kind of people who would attend an event like this are the sort who probably wouldn't ever engage in bullying in the first place. By the same token, the kind of people who would engage in bullying probably wouldn't be caught dead at an event such as this.

This is a great idea that will empower victims and spread awareness. I hope there is mention of the animals, who, as the voiceless members of society, are also the most vulnerable to bullying and abusive behavior.
