Paul Peabody and his Band of Fiddlers will perform at the newly-opened Playhouse Market on St. Patrick’s Day. Peabody, a violinist with the New York City Ballet, received a Grammy Award for his solo violin performance in the movie “Titanic” and played the Irish fiddle on numerous recordings with fellow Grammy Award winner singer Celine Dion.

Peabody, who trained at Julliard, will be joined Monday by as many as 10 other musicians, who have been performing professionally for 35 years and for 30 years in various groups. Peabody said they will play traditional favorites such as “Spootiskerry Reel,” “Rose in the Heather”, “McMahons Reel,” “Trip to Durrow,” “Battle of Aughrim” and many others.

The Playhouse Market at 20 South Broadway in Nyack is also celebrating with drink specials. These include the “Green Shamrock Martini” made with Bailey’s Mint Chocolate Irish Cream liqueur and Stoli Vanilla Vodka garnished with a mint sprig and green sugar rim for $6, Irish coffee made with Jameson Irish Whiskey and Bailey’s Irish Cream liqueur for $4, Guinness Beer for $5 and also in the spirit of the day, “Green” Heineken for $4.
