The Lower Hudson Valley Youth Chorus will be performing a benefit concert at Nyack High School on Sunday, June 12th at 6:00pm. The Youth Chorus, directed by Jared Rosenblum, has been performing locally and in NYC since 2007. Recent appearances include singing the Star Spangled Banner at City Field before a Mets game and at Madison Square Garden before a Knicks game. The chorus has also sung at Radio City Music Hall, Neil Bergs 100 Years of Broadway, the Autism Speaks Walk, A Gift of Sharing at Lord & Taylors, and at a fundraiser for Japan, singing with Dream Theater's Jordan Rudess.
The student performers, from Rockland, Westchester and Orange and Bergen Counties, range in age from 6-17 years old. The group began just four years ago, aiming to meet the needs and interests of students wanting to sing together with a Glee-like inspiration. Jared Rosenblum is the choral teacher at Nyack Middle School.
Proceeds from the upcoming performance will go to Arts Angels (www.artsangelsinc.org), the non-profit arts organization that supports the fine art, drama, and music activities of students in the Nyack schools. Tickets are $5 and will be sold at the door. Performance will be from 6-7pm at Nyack High School, 360 Christian Herald Road, Nyack NY. Contact www.artsangelsinc.org for more information.
