The Burning of New York , written and directed by Samuel Harps, tells the true story of one of the most extraordinary and revealing events in Early American History. In 1741 Broadway, Maiden Lane and Wall Street were set ablaze in an alleged slave revolt. After an unprecedented trial, 35 people were hanged or burned at the stake - right in New York City!We would encourage history buffs, those interested in civil rights and anyone who loves New York City to attend this powerful piece of theatre.
