Palisades Opera is a performance group of professional opera singers, mostly from Rockland and Bergen counties. We perform 2 concerts a year, one of which is a full length opera. Last year we sang La Boheme at Grace Church in Nyack, and we are pleased to be back to entertain you with Mozart's masterpiece, "Don Giovanni". We have staged it in modern day times, but it will be performed in Italian with English narration.
Don Giovanni is a story about an obsessive womanizer, the people he has wronged, and his untimate undoing. It's full of humor, excitement and more all set to Mozart's sublime music. Featuring Rockland County singers Ronni Sarrett Lederman, Daniel Cohen, Nina Louis, (of Nyack), Dennis Fox (of Tappan), Jennifer Cece of Westwood, and many more wonderful performers. Staging is by Olga Shyp and Christopher Oldfather (of Nyack) is the pianist and musical director.
There will be an additional matinee performance on Sunday, June 10 at 3pm at Grace Episcopal Church, 9 Harrington Ave, Westwood, NJ.
