In attempt to promote art in public spaces, award winning artist Sue Barrasi of Tappan, will be displaying her "small works" exhibit at Barnes & Noble in the Palisades Center thru November 13. "It is important to promote art in public spaces to help promote and enrich a community. Exhibiting in work spaces and general public areas advance and promote a meaningful role for the arts in the lives of individuals, families and the communities. Barrasi captures Rocklands beauty through broad strokes of paint and bold color stories. "Hudson Blues" an oil painting created while painting with "Artist in the Park," a New York plein air painting group, exhibits the many moods of the Hudson River as the sunsets at Nyack Beach.
Trained as an illustrator at The School of Visual Arts she redirected herself as a fine artist as she started exhibiting in juried shows & taking classes at The Arts Students League. Barrasi has been commissioned to do portraits, landscapes & historical landmarks as well as paintings for postage stamps, book covers and magazine articles. All artworks will be for sale.
