Saturday, July 14, 10 AM-3 PM
Join local artists Bill Batson and Kris Burns for an Edward Hopper immersion workshop. The six hour session starts Saturday morning at the artist's childhood home for a brief slide show and lecture that explores Hoppers work and life. We will then tour the village of Nyack, lingering on the buildings, color of light and ambiance that informed his visual vocabulary. Finally, we will work with various materials and media to create art work inspired by a day of viewing Nyack through the eyes of Edward Hopper. Please bring with you whatever materials, media you feel most comfortable with (ie. sketch pad, pencils, charcoals, pastels, etc) Fee: $80 non-member, $75 member.
