The school is contuing its 2012 curriculum with a “Stand-Up Comedy Workshop series,” following up on this summer’s inaugural Lower Hud’s Funniest Comedy Contest.  Gift certificates can be used for workshops that will teach adults and teens the art of stand-up comedy while offering performance opportunities at the Nyack Village Theatre and The Turning Point Cafe in Piermont.

There are two sessions for six weeks on Monday nights beginning January 16th and February 27th and will be held at the Nyack Village Theatre at 94 Main Street.  Both sessions will culminate with students performing five minutes of their own comedy material before a live audience.  The cost is $170.00.  Future workshops include improvisation, comedy writing and guest lectures with leaders in the field of comedy. Lower Hud’s Comedy School is founded by Piermont comedy producer and talent agent, Peggy Boyce.

“This is a safe and fun environment for local people looking to try their hand at a popular art form,” said Boyce.  “What better gift to give someone then the chance to realize their talent, she added.” To register for the Lower Hud’s Comedy School “Beginner Comedy Workshop” or to purchase a gift certificate, email lowerhudsfunniest@gmail.com or call 845-680-6029.  For more information, go to www.lowerhudsfunniest.com.
