Lecture/Join In Song: "Every Voice Counts"

  • As part of Nyack Jazz Week and in preparation for the community's participation in the September 10th premiere production of her large-scale work commemorating the American experience surrounding 9/11, local composer, Anita Brown will discuss the inspiration for this work and the role of the community in its premiere.   She will teach willing attendees the unison melody to the community, so that we might all join together in song at the close of the piece.

The piece is entitled Stand.  It will be premiered on Saturday, September 10th at 2:00pm in Memorial Park (FREE) by Anita Brown Jazz Orchestra and featuring The United States Marine Corps Silent Drill Platoon from Marine Barracks, Washington, DC (confirmed).

Please visit www.standsymphony.com to download your copy of the 10-measure melody.  This sing-along is for all ages! Monday, July 25th!
