Highlands Bluegrass Festival

Celebrity radio DJ Carol Beaugard and her band Blue Express will headline a list of regional artists bringing Bluegrass music back to the Ramapo Highlands as part of a free festival focused on this popular American musical art form. The festival will also feature the talents of local artisans and the rich history of the Ramapo Pass as visitors travel to the great lawn of Jacob Sloat's historic Harmony Hall in Sloatsburg, NY on September 19, 2010 between 1-7 PM.

This free festival is supported by the Arts Council of Rockland County, the Hudson Valley Bluegrass Association, the Town of Ramapo and the Friends of Harmony Hall ~ Jacob Sloat House.

Blue Express will be joined on the festival stage by the Ramapo Torne Ramblers, a local band specializing in the Appalachian mountain folk roots that formed the foundations of the Bluegrass style. The festival will also feature the modern Bluegrass approach of Connecticut-based Proud Flesh. Together, these three outstanding bands offer regional music lovers an unprecedented opportunity to enjoy the diversity of musical styles that make Bluegrass music so popular worldwide.
