ALMOST, MAINE PLAYWRIGHT JOHN CARIANI AT ELMWOOD PLAYHOUSE FOR AUDIENCE Q & A
Playwright John Cariani will be attending the January 21st performance of his play ALMOST, MAINE at Elmwood Playhouse in Nyack and will participate in an Audience Talkback and Q & A followed by a wine and cheese reception.
Born and raised in Presque Isle, Maine, Mr. Cariani
premiered his first play, ALMOST MAINE, at Portland Stage
Company. Cariani majored in History at Amherst College,
but the lure of the theater overpowered his original plans for a teaching career. He appeared on the crime series LAW AND ORDER, but his major break as an actor came in 2004 when he was cast in the role of Motel in a Broadway
revival of FIDDLER ON THE ROOF. This performance earned him a Tony nomination and won him the 2004 Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical.
Mr. Cariani's bouquet of touching love stories,
has been produced by over 50 professional theatres internationally and is currently one of the most produced plays by community theatres, universities and high schools.
