Downtown overhaul brings trees to Main Street

Downtown Nyack became a bit more green Thursday afternoon, just before this weekend's .

A total of 26 trees were installed along Main Street, an aesthetic element of the Streetscape project, which began last June with the goal of revamping the village's downtown.

The tree installation was carried out by A-Tech Construction, and will be followed by the bricking of the planter beds.

The final portion of the Streetscape—fresh pavement at the Main Street-Broadway intersection—will come on the heels of .

What a treat to come back to Nyack and such beautiful improvements to our downtown after being away for a week -- Spring has truly sprung!

Sorry for the buzz-kil but the poor planning resulted in even more congestion on the already over-crowded sidewalks. I believe the VB is working on this problem but until then the entire Village is vulnerable to lawsuits. Can you say A.D.A. children?
