Rockland Under Flood Watch Until Friday Evening

The skies may have been clear early in the day Thursday, but the National Weather Service issued a flood watch for Rockland County and the surrounding area beginning at noon Thursday and ending at 6 p.m. Friday.

The NWS is warning of possible flash flooding. The concern is a forecast calling for lheavy rain showers that could remain in place  long enough to drop over two inches of rain in an hour and cause localized flooding. Similar rainfalls have caused flooding in the county in recent weeks, especially in Nyack.
