This is a story of Machiavelli and the Borgias involving sex, lies and videotape.

Clarkstown politicos had two discussion topics on their minds over the July 4th weekend. These conversations were not about those who had fought and died for their country in 1776 to bring freedom, justice and democracy.

On the contrary, the first topic was whether one who was charged with being unable to return a ‘pea’ coat to Macy's, and who was not removed as the Chairman of the Rockland County Republican Party as a result, would demand the removal from the Party of one who was charged with making a remark indicating that he would like to sodomize a person who is a County Legislator.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Rockland (BBBSR) held their annual mentor/mentee graduation ceremony at the County Legislature at the invitation of County Legislator Ed Day.

BBBSR, the local chapter of the national organization, carefully pairs children between the ages of six and 18 that are facing adversity with a caring adult mentor to establish a one-to-one supportive relationship to help the child avoid risky behavior and to serve as a positive role model by providing counsel, friendship, constructive example and reinforcement.

From Nanuet Patch: What Is The Most Endangered Species in America?

Political opposition is the most endangered species where we live [Rockland County, New York] because anyone who challenges the status quo is persecuted into extinction.

How many times over the last twenty years have you walked into the voting booth to find the same candidate on all of the party lines?

How do you think that was engineered?

In the early 1800’s a lumber mill was constructed on Main Street just about opposite where Mill Street is today. (Hence the name.)  The mill was in use till about 1890 when the property was sold and the Pavilion Hotel was built on the hill to the north side of Main.
