Rebuild Hi-Tor Seeks Tabling Volunteers

The most recent December newsletter is attached to this Patch post.

The Rebuild Hi-Tor effort is pushing ahead with many fundraising efforts from participating restaurants and businesses to brick paver and dog treat sales. The goal of the rebuild effort is to raise enough funds to build a new shelter because the current one lacks sufficient county funding and is in disrepair.

One large push is setting up tables at various spots around the county to give the public information and collect donations.

"The tabling has been hugely successful with the public," said Don Franchino, Fundraising Chair. Franchino, of Nanuet, runs a New City All State office with his sons and is known in the community for his successful fundraising efforts. After 30 years, some of his triumphs include the Nanuet Little League fields and more recently, the Highview Community Playground.

"In 30 years of fund raising, I have not experienced this outporing of support.  This is an excellent avenue for students across Rockland to volunteer," he added.

Currently, Rebuild Hi-Tor is seeking volunteers to chair the tabling committees in Ramapo and North Rockland. Interested? Please contact volunteer@rebuildhitor.org for more info.

If you’d like to volunteer to man a table at one of the events, please contact Mary Lenahan at MLenahan@aol.com. Sign up for upcoming events online by clicking this link. Also, the most recent December newsletter is attached to this Patch post.

Rebuild Hi-Tor would like to give special thanks to three printers who have been a tremendous help to our Rebuild efforts:

  • Aldan Press (Bardonia)
  • Star Press (Valley Cottage)
  • Ryan Press (Blauvelt)
