Orangetown FD to Host Corned Beef and Cabbage Dinner

Proceeds benefit the Orangetown Fire Co # 1. They've been planning for a few months now and plan to have Irish music playing during the dinner, which is scheduled for Saturday, March 16

Correction. The event is on Saturday March 16 not March 15

Fundraiser dinners are usually centered around pizzas or pasta. The Orangetown Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary is going with something different: a Corned Beef and Cabbage fundraiser.

"This is our first Corned Beef and Cabbage fundraiser," said Barbara Thornton of the Ladies Auxiliary. "We are hoping for a good turnout, then we can see if this might be a good Annual fundraiser. The proceeds go towards activities, uniforms, and supplies needed for serving at fires."

The dinner will be Saturday, March 16 at 90 Depot Place in South Nyack from 5 - 8 p.m. and it will feature a menu of corned beef, potato, bread, beverage and dessert. It's BYOB and take out is available. To order take out, call 845-358-9751 on March 16 from 4 - 7:30 p.m.

"We have been planning since beginning of the year, buying decorations, and supplies as needed," said Thornton. "We have downloaded Irish music, put up flyers and advertised on Facebook and Patch. I am very excited about this and hope we can get a good crowd."

The ladies auxiliary is known for their annual Pancake Breakfast with Santa in December.
