Nyack Hospital Offers ‘At Your Request-Room Service Dining’

Just because you are stuck in the hospital doesn’t mean you can’t have a meal of your choice.

Nyack Hospital will offer “At Your Request-Room Service Dining,” provided by the hospital’s vendor Sodexo, starting July 30.

“We are dedicated to making our patient’s stay at Nyack Hospital the best it can be,” said John Volanto, Nyack Hospital Vice President Support Services and Chief Information Officer, in a press release.

Like a hotel guest, patients can choose from an extensive menu and request it through customer service representatives who make sure the patient’s selection is OK with his or her doctors.

Meals are delivered within a specific time frame so patients order “what they want, when they want,” while the kitchen is open.

“The new dining plan will enhance additional policies recently implemented which include the elimination of overhead paging,” said Volanto. “We strive to offer a quiet, exceptionally clean and accommodating environment that fosters healing and well-being.”

More than 350 hospitals use At Your Request-Room Service Dining, which aims to increase patient satisfaction and improve their hospital experience.

“At Your Request Room Service Dining offers patients their choice of the meals at the times they prefer,” said Frank Strazza, General Manager Food Services at Nyack Hospital in a press release. “Each meal is prepared fresh and delivered directly to the patient.  We assist with everything from ordering to opening containers.  Patient choice and customer service is the key to the program’s success.”
