VOLUNTEERS HELP MAKE HOMES FOR HEROES TAG SALE TO BENEFIT VETERANS A SUCCESS!

Volunteers from Westchester and Rockland gave it their all for our Veterans at the Homes for Heroes Tag Sale on Saturday, September 7th.  The perfect weather also brought out big crowds, garnering $4,800 in sales and donations to help furnish affordable housing for homeless and disabled Veterans.  This was the first event held at the apartments Homes for Heroes built on Camp Shanks, in Tappan, N.Y., from which over 1.3 million GI’s left to fight in Europe during WWII.

The Tappan Zee High School wrestling and track teams and band were on site early, along with the Orangetown Mighty Midgets to help set things up. The high school’s football team used their muscle to tear things down at the end of the day, the day after winning their first game of the season!  Tappan Zee High School’s lacrosse team graciously donated packages of household goods to all eight apartments.  The folks at Camp Venture also lent their assistance.

To help support the men and women who bravely and honorably served our nation, monetary donations can be mailed to Homes For Heroes, Inc., One Blue Hill Plaza, P.O. Box 1648, Pearl River, NY 10965 or credit card donations can be made via www.RocklandHomesForHeroes.Com.  Please call Sarah Wade at 845-735-0515, if you have any further questions.
