URGENT: MAY 22 HEARING ON DESALINATION SURCHARGE
If you oppose United Water’s desalination proposal for Rockland’s drinking water, THIS IS YOUR CHANCE TO BE HEARD!
Come out on May 22 to an important public hearing to help us stop the desalination proposal:
THURSDAY, MAY 22 at 7PM.
ORANGETOWN TOWN HALL
26 Orangeburg Road; Orangeburg, NY 10962
UW has filed to charge Rockland a "down payment" of $56.8 million for their failed desalination proposal. That’s $56.8 million without a single shovel in the ground!

UW wants us to bail them out for their failed desalination project, which is:
• not needed
• has never been approved
• looks increasingly like it will never be built!
Tell Gov. Cuomo & the Public Service Commission:
• We don’t want drinking water drawn 3.5 miles downstream from Indian Point nuclear power plant, with long-term low levels of tritium and strontium-90.
• United Water claims that desalination is the least costly water source at $189 million! We have far cheaper, safer, less environmentally harmful water supply options.
