United Way of Rockland Goes Stir Crazy

The West Nyack Stir Crazy in the Palisades Mall is celebrating the chain’s 18th Birthday by joining with local charities to raise money in Rockland County.

On Monday, August 12th, the restaurant donated 10% of the food net sales to The United Way of Rockland (UWRC). Emily Dominguez, in addition to being a board member of UWRC, is a principal of emSOLUTIONS and a Trustee, Village of Haverstraw. She  fired up the woks at Stir Crazy on Monday night and it was quite a show! Additionally, Mimi Vilord, President & CEO of United Way of Rockland, was guest bartender. There were very generous “tips” donated to United Way of Rockland.

Also, supporters could go online to Stir Crazy’s website and vote for their favorite charity. The charity with the most votes received an additional donation of $500. Thank you so much to all those who voted for and supported United Way of Rockland. Representatives from Stir Crazy presented Mimi Vilord and Emily Dominguez with a check for $1,000 on Wednesday night.

“This was a fun way to raise money and awareness for all the things that United Way of Rockland does,” said Vilord.

“We enjoyed working with all the charities, and were happy to be able to present this check to United Way of Rockland,” said Rubert Nogales of Stir Crazy. “We are a proud part of the community and look forward to being able to do more in the future. Emily Dominguez and I are already talking about potential future events.”

So thanks to everyone who ate, drank and voted! Thank you for Living United!
