Today is "Giving Tuesday" Help A Local Charity

You were asked to spend on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, consider giving to a local charity on "Giving Tuesday."  There are many Rockland charities that could use your help. This Thursday evening Rockland Independent Living Center is hosting its 26th Annual Winter Wonderland Dinner Gala fund-raiser at The Nyack Seaport. For tickets call 624-1366 ext. 112.

The Salvation Army has its Red Kettles at various locations through the county and it also runs an "Angel Tree" program in which you select a paper angel with the name of a child in need and his or her requested gift. Call The Salvation Army for more information at 352-9577. Some local Shop-Rite stores also have the Angel Trees displayed in store.

Other nonprofits to consider are Catholic Community Services of Rockland, Rockland YMCA, Saint Dominic's Home, ARC of Rockland, Hi-Tor Animal Shelter, People-to-People, United Hospice of Rockland, and your local libraries.
