American Legion John M. Perry Post 1044 of Sparkill presented an award to Homes for Heroes for Veterans Project of the Year and helped them in reaching their goal of building affordable housing for homeless and disabled Veterans via a donation. Homes for Heroes is built on Camp Shanks, in Tappan, N.Y., from which over 1.3 million GI’s left to fight in Europe during WWII. Homes for Heroes President, Legislator John Murphy, gratefully accepted the award and their generous check of $600.
