Nyack Artificial Turf Fields

The Nyack Schools bond has passed and the Board will now begin the hard work of planning all of these projects. This will not be easy. Regardless of anyone's vote, one easy decision should be immediately made, and that is to commit to installing the safest and most environmentally friendly artificial turf fields available. That means no crumb rubber. Others like New York City, and the LA Public Schools have banned crumb rubber, and we should too. There are other, 100% natural and organic alternatives. They are more expensive, but when bonded over 15 years, would result in an increased cost to the average property tax payer of well under $10/year after the NYS contribution to the debt service. That’s right, less than $10/year. This would show to everyone that The District really did make the best decision for our community and our children. If you agree, I urge you to show your support by signing the petition via the link below. This petition isn’t just for the voters. Our children will be paying on these fields day in and day out. It's their field, and they should have a voice by signing as well. http://www.petitions24.com/nyack_school_district_artificial_turf_fields
