Nyack Halloween Parade Just Weeks Away

Nyack's 24th annual Halloween Parade will be held Saturday, Oct. 22 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

(Rain date: Sunday, October 23.)

Festivities begin at 3:00 p.m. with live music in the Riverspace municipal parking lot on Main Street.

The event, organized by the Chamber and sponsored by leading local merchants, is the largest parade of its kind outside New York City. Building on a history of record-breaking crowds, over 20,000 spectators are expected to line the streets of Main and Broadway in Nyack for this fun-filled, family-friendly event.

Parade-goers will see a reprise of Therese Shorn’s “Festival of Ghouls”—15-foot tall puppets worked by Nyack’s own Amazing Grace Circus. Other features include five of Rockland County’s award-winning high school marching bands, Suburbia Roller Derby of Westchester, the H.O.G.S., Hudson Vagabond Puppets, Hook and Ladder Companies from around Rockland, and unicyclists and stiltwalkers from Amazing Grace Circus.

New this year in the Riverspace municipal parking lot on Main and Artopee from 3:00-5:00 p.m.:

  • Live music on the Orangetown Bandstand sponsored by Nyack’s Anjel Blue Music Studios
  • Dog Costume Contest sponsored by My-Buddy-N-Me of Nyack
  • Sponsor tents offering food and novelties

Registered costumed marchers are eligible to win prizes.

  • $1,000 Grand Prize, Best Float
  • $ 300 Judge’s Choice
  • $ 250 Best Adult Costume
  • Gift certificates for other categories including: Best children’s costume, best group, best family, and best ghouls.
