Nyack Fire District: Ryder Endorsed for Re-Election

The election for district commissioner of the Nyack Joint Fire District is December 11th, 2012.

One commissioner is elected each year and serves a five year term.

This year, District Commissioner Ted Ryder is up for re-election.

We have known Ted for many years and served under him during his tenure as Chief of The Nyack Fire Department; he is a hard working, honest, and fair person who has always put the good of the fire department and taxpayers first. As Chiefs and Former-Chiefs of The Nyack Fire Department, we have had the distinct pleasure of working with Ted Ryder as a district commissioner for the past five years.

He has also been an active member of The Nyack Fire Department for over thirty five years and routinely responds to calls day and night. Ted is our Fire Prevention Coordinator, handling fire prevention education programs at schools and daycare centers throughout the district. His record of public service is extensive and distinguished. He has performed an outstanding job to date, and replacing Commissioner Ryder with an inexperienced candidate would be detrimental to the taxpayers and fire department.

Therefore, the current Chiefs and former Chiefs listed below fully support and endorse Commissioner Ryder for re-election, and we urge every voting member of the public residing in Upper Grandview, South Nyack, Nyack, or Upper Nyack to come out on December 11th to support Ted Ryder in his bid for re-election.

Sincerely,

Chief James Petriello

Deputy Chief James Weck

Battalion Chief Vincent Reid

Ex-Chief Robert Booth

Ex-Chief James Scully

Ex-Chief Miles Taylor

Ex-Chief Brian Knecht

Ex-Chief James Clark

Ex-Chief Howard Williams

Ex-Chief Andrew Kolb III

Ex-Chief Everett “Smokey” Wanamaker

I guess better late than never. LaCorte is serving his 4th year as Mayor and was Trustee for I thinkRead More 4 years before that. This year is the only time he has brought the idea to the village about participating in this program. He is motivated by the opportunity of getting positive press for his County Executive campaign. The village should have been involved in this program ( as well as the Americorps program) long before this. On a positive note, hopefully the Village will continue this worthwhile partnership for many years to come.
