AERCO International announces it has partnered with the Food Bank of Hudson Valley and People-to-People to collect food and other needed supplies for New York residents affected by Hurricane Sandy. Among the most requested items are food, baby wipes, diapers, baby formula, disposable bottles and liners, bleach, rubber gloves, cleaning supplies, shovels, and rakes. Donations will be

collected at AERCO International, 100 Oritani Drive, Blauvelt, NY 10913 through Thursday, November 15th.

AERCO has also initiated a volunteer program with People-to-People, Rockland County’s largest food pantry. As part of the program, AERCO will be sending three employees per day to help the organization sort boxes of food and clothing, check expiration dates, load and stock shelves, etc.

“Many communities in our area were devastated by Hurricane Sandy and we are eager to help support our neighbors that suffered losses,” said Fred Depuy, President and CEO of AERCO International. “During times such as these, we believe we must all come together to offer disaster relief assistance in any way possible.”

I guess better late than never. LaCorte is serving his 4th year as Mayor and was Trustee for I thinkRead More 4 years before that. This year is the only time he has brought the idea to the village about participating in this program. He is motivated by the opportunity of getting positive press for his County Executive campaign. The village should have been involved in this program ( as well as the Americorps program) long before this. On a positive note, hopefully the Village will continue this worthwhile partnership for many years to come.
