1. The Orangetown Town Council will convene a special meeting at 8 p.m. in Orangetown Town Hall to adopt the 2014 town budget. Before the vote, the town board will complete the public hearing on the budget that began during the regular meeting Nov. 12.
2. The Rockland County Legislature will hold three public hearings on the proposed 2014 budget at a meeting starting at 7 p.m. One focuses on the current proposal, which includes a 9.9 percent tax increase. The second hearing is on overriding the state mandated tax levy cap. The third looks at possible approaches to handling the county's $128 million deficit. Get more details here.
