Town Board Approved Street Lighting and Signage Requests
New City and West Nyack residents sought additional safety measures
The Clarktown Town Board approved requests for safety enhancements from residents in New City and West Nyack at their Tuesday night meeting. Residents wanted more lighting in their neighborhoods for security reasons. Increased local ball field usage led to an inquiry for more parking restrictions in West Nyack.
More street lighting will be added in two locations. An additional streetlight will be installed at the northeast corner of Arcadia Drive and Laurel Road in New City. A new streetlight will be installed between 16 Patterson Avenue and 70 Green Road in West Nyack.
Orange and Rockland Utilities will handle the installation of the municipal streetlights at no cost to the town. The Town will be responsible for fuel costs for the sodium vapor streetlights.
The extended use of a nearby ball field adjacent to Samantha Way in West Nyack resulted in parking restriction signs being modified. The No Parking limitations on the signs were changed from October to November to reflect the expanded use of the field and increased demand for parking along the street.

When are the traffic lights on Main Street and Heritage Drive in New City going to be activated? They have been up for a long time and are still covered.

New lights were installed by Heritage Dr. in New City, to provide safe passage for those trying to exit the condos and the post office across the street over a month ago. Although installed, they do not work. WHAT HAPPENED????
