Police: Orange County Man Charged with DWI on Parkway

Middletown man arrested early Saturday in Clarkstown; crackdown leads to six arrests in Westchester.

 

An Orange County resident was charged with drunken driving on the Palisades Interstate Parkway in Clarkstown on Saturday, according to State Police.

Police said Gregsher M. Torres, 35, of Middletown was stopped on the parkway at the Exit 9 interchange at 4:25 a.m. Saturday. Police said Torres was charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor.

Police said Torres was released pending a Clarkstown Town Court hearing in New City.

State Police in Rockland and Westchester on Friday began an holiday crackdown on drunken driving. In addition to Saturday's arrest in Clarkstown, State Police said a DWI sobriety enforcement detail in Westchester County led to six arrests:

- Bohdan Huzar, 62, of Ridgefield, CT, was charged with DWI and was released on $250 bail pending a hearing in Town of North Castle Court on Jan. 11.

-Vasiliy Khamyak, 23, of Westfield, MA, was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana. He was released on $600 bail pending a hearing in Town of Lewisboro Court on Jan. 3.

-Christopher Uff, 32, of Aston, PA, was charged with DWI and was released on $200 bail pending a Town of Bedford Court hearing on Jan. 6.

-Jennifer A. Keon, 25, of Lincolndale, NY, was charged with DWI and was issued traffic tickets returnable to the Town of Cortlandt Court on Jan. 7.

-Michael Falcon, 25, of Cortlandt, NY, was charged with DWI and was issued traffic tickets returnable to the Town of Cortlandt Court on Jan. 7.

-Alexander Diaz, 32, of Montrose, NY, was charged with for DWI and was issued traffic tickets returnable to the Town of Cortlandt Court on Jan. 3.

In addition to the six arrests, State Police said the sobriety checks led to 20 speeding tickets, three tickets for seat belt violations, two tickets for child restraint offenses and 19 tickets for other traffic offenses.
