Piermont Police: Do Not Leave Valuables in Car

Visible items left in cars give way to break-ins, police say

are continuing to investigate last week's "smash and grab" robberies.

"A smash and grab is when someone smashes a vehicle's windows and steals valuable left inside," explained Michael O'Shea, Piermont's chief of police.

The car larcenies—four in total—. Three cars parked at Goswick Pavillion had their windows broken, and purses inside were swiped, police said. The same happened to a car left in parking lot D. All vehicles were locked.

"We're asking residents not to leave valuables in their cars," stressed O'Shea. All the incidents are under investigation and cannot be commented on further, he added.
