Car Catches Fire In Driveway Of Upper Nyack Home

Firefighters put out blaze before it reaches home on North Broadway.

A car parked in the driveway of an 1800s homes on North Broadway was damaged by fire this afternoon.

The Volvo station wagon was parked next to the house at 322 N. Broadway, just three doors down from Castle Heights Avenue, when fire broke out around 4:20 p.m.

Volunteers of the Nyack Fire Department had the fire extinguished in a few minutes and prevented the fire from reaching the home.

No one was injured.

About two blocks of North Broadway in Upper Nyack were closed as firefighters battled the fire. A short distance south in Nyack, North Broadway remains closed for about three blocks as utility crews make repairs from T.
